For gas stove under $100, there are 2 kind of flame ignition. Magnetic or mechanic ignition and electric ignition. Both have their own benefit. Electric ignition is silent, so there is no sound when you turn on your stove, but you need battery as an exchange. The other hand, magnetic ignition don't need any batteries, but it sound lound to start burning. The weakness of electric ignition, the pin to make spark is located so close to the burner, that made the pin heaten while cooking. Sometime that make the spark won't turn on. With magnetic ignition, the pin located far from the burner, but it need some sprayer to send flame to the burner. Sometime, the sprayer don't work properly.
Magnetic ignition is easier to maintain, because it do not need any electrical instrument. Electronic instrument rather difficult to find. For gas stove bellow $100, you prefer use the magnetic / mechanic ignition.

Your gas stove mechanic ignition doesn't work? Well, thats happened when your gas stove have been used for more than one year at least. Many of the malfuctions usually caused by the part that trigger electric spark. In the machine, down bottom of it, there is a screw you need to open to get the broken part out. Next to coil springs, there a metal that produce electric ignition. It look like the "L" leter. If it broken, the shape will be "I" shape. The knop cannot reach that metal because of it. All you need to do is only replace that part.

Some customer ask me about their gas stove. Why one of my 2 burner gas stove can't turn on? Another ask, why the flame is too small even the knop already on max level. The answer maybe on the regulator they use. The pipe or hose probably dirty, but gas always able to escape. But the regulator is a part that control the pressure of the propane tank. If that part malfuction, then the flow of propane also got trouble. Most the couse is regulator that got oil and dirt. Just drop few water with liq detergent on the outer flow of the regulator, and it will fixed it.Normal gas regulator has small part like marbles to quit leaking gas. Very Pleased I wanted to go to gas cooking in our otherwise electric home, which in my rural area means propane. I selected this range based on known reliability, not the burner output ratings with propane. If you will be using propane, know that burner calculated BTU ratings will be less with propane than with natural gas, and the amount of drop varies among makers. (You can find the figures on a plaque on the ranges but rarely on maker websites.) GE is NOT the big winner in published BTU drop. But I figured that I would be okay with a range having a power burner. I was sort of right. Under propane, the power burner is really not showing apparent great power with the pans I use. It's fine, just not super power. I would say it's a little slower to boil water than the electric was. However, all that is, for me, compensated by the great control with gas. And it's not a wimpy burner at all. I haven't done a lot of experimentation, but I suspect my encapsulated bottom pans might do better on an electric burner, while a plain bottom might be ideal for rapid professional type pan work on gas.
